Spilling the Beans

Ohchimama

Match.com has launched their 2008 campaign.  Match.com is like a trip to Wal-Mart.  When you go to Wal-Mart, you might get what you need but you’ll feel a little dirty about it.

I should know.  It’s now been 6 months since my 2 month foray into on-line dating.  And I’m starting to think that maybe, if for no other reason than provide additional material for my blog, that I should get back out there and join Match.com.When I was on eHarmony, I attracted every Christian fundamentalist freak-show in the metro area.  Not that I’m against Christians.  I mean Lent’s coming up and all, so give it up for the big J.C., but let’s face it:  really good noogie comes in all kinds of, er, packages.

Match.com has a new feature where someone can sign you up on your behalf (and a curse to anyone in the inner circle who thinks that this is a good idea for me).  Except for this, I’ve done a pretty crappy job of managing my own love life so perhaps I do need to outsource it.  Hmmm

Off topic, my company is debuting it’s new media campaign during this Sunday’s Super Bowl between the insufferable Tom Brady and the adorable Eli Manning.   My office mates and I are of the same mind where the commercials are concerned and like them or hate them- people will definitely be talking about them.   There are some great commercials out there right now.  Here are 3 of my favorites.

T-Mobile- Guy tries to leave a voice mail message after a first date and confesses that he has a extra sweat gland in his armpit.  He re-records the message several times during the 30 second ad.

Subway- Guy lost his lunch receipt and can’t turn it in for his expense report.  He asks the company accountant if he can just photocopy his butt and turn that in.  The accountant tells him to turn around and then after seeing the guys butt he says “ohchimama”.

Hallmark- Woman gives her husband a creating card that sings ‘I can’t fight this feeling anymore’ transporting them both to their 80’s hair band days.

..what commercials are making you laugh these days?

…should I go back on line?

Absolutely you should get out there again! There are many fish in the sea and there are quite a few that are considered by some a “Good Catch”. My hubby included of course :)

If you haven’t guessed, its your lovely neighbor whom you shared a chicken wing with in a anti-vegan drunken stupor!

    Love ya!

  2. Mickie says:

I second that — go for it!!

  3. Jonna says:

What do you have to lose? At least you gain great stories that are so unbelievable..

  4. Kate-da-Great says:

Dive in with both typing fingers and make it happen, or “Carry on” what ever they say on Project Runway…
Weather it is “Mr Right” or “Mr Write about me” you will have made some new experiences to laugh about later. Perhaps a date to see a phychic, you haven’t done that yet!

  5. Mickie says:

Commercials that make me laugh? Sonic! Every time that guy says “What a doofus!” I laugh — even though I know it’s coming.
The list of commercials I could do without is endless . . .

  6. Trent says:

As far as the online dating goes, do as Tucker Max would do: drink lots of vodka, make inappropriate comments, and be sure to share your stories.

All of this vegan talk is making me hungry for a cheeseburger…

  7. 50ftQeenie says:

You might as well get out there again…have some fun..it’s good!

Commercials: OK, so I am watching the Super Bowl now and the commercials are NOT my favorite thing this year. Favorite things in order):
    1. Tom Tom (Brady) getting the stuffing knocked out of him many different times in many different ways by many different Giants players. I am watching them all in slow motion…
    2. The fact that Tom Petty did not have any wardrobe malfunctions at half time
    3. The Commercials – Audi’s Godfather Take-off was funny as was the Richard Simmons ad. That’s all I have.
