There Isn’t Enough Activia

I’m blocked. And not the kind of blockage that tubs of Activia spoon fed to me by a shiny Jamie-Lynn Curtis will help. I’m blocked creatively and unable to write anything interesting for the blog. I’m blocked professionally, as my tasks grow and my desire to do them wanes.
This happens to me sometimes when I’ve had a busy few days. My family was in from Kansas City this weekend and was it not for only having one bathroom; I want them to move in with me. Denver Amy has this fantasy of group living that until recently, I sort of didn’t “get”. Now, I often think about grabbing my single friends, buying a beach-front mansion and creating a sorority for adults… only minus the eating disorders and with better wine.
After the KC Clan left, I unexpectedly spent the day with Salad Boobs, who I’m now calling Mary- Katherine and our other friend who I can’t find a nickname for. I took them to the “Big Mall” and we shopped and had lunch, finding that comfortable rhythm that women find between racks of clothes, margaritas and much later, a pan of brownies.
Since then, I’ve been in a funk, waking up sad, lacking direction, unable to focus. The gorgeous weather of the last two days has done little to lure me out of the confines of the condo and except for a few phone calls, I haven’t had any real urge to talk to anyone.
The highlight of my week thus far was a rumor that hit DC last night, “Biden out, Hillary In, News at 11” that interrupted my very busy night of “How I Met Your Mother”. It appears to be nothing more than a rumor which for my blog is unfortunate because I could have gotten quite a bit of mileage out of that.
Instead I’m at a paltry word count of 316 wondering if I change the font and double-space, can I fill a blog page. I even did some web-surfing today to see if I could get an idea on something to write about.
Nothing.
So, I’m blocked.

Spending some time outside might break up the clumping…especially if it is nice weather. If you didn’t have Netflix, a walk to Blockbuster might help. I personally like to cruz through the Hallmark from time to time. (I am a boring house wife/mother now though)
    LOVE YOU!
    (Dunkin Donuts RULES)

Well, I’d suggest a run or visit to the gym. It’s generally hard to work up the interest, but you do feel better after, unless you break something or fall flat on your ass. Although I am still built like a bowl full of jello, it’s nice having new knees. It feels great to be able to do some of the stuff I loved before new knees were needed. And I tell myself it is all jiggling less than it was a year ago. I ain’t fibbin about THAT. Love YOU! Mom

I suggest you put the top down on the car and go for a drive down the GW Parkway, very good for the soul.

I suggest that you go and see the Richard Avedon exhibit at the Corcoran. I went there this week and it was awesome – it also inspires a lot of thought.
It is showing through the Presidential inauguration.

If that doesn’t work for you, venture on down to China Town or U street after midnight (with friends or mace, perhaps) and I am certain there will be plenty to write about there :)
