November 5th found my mom and I on a tour bus in St. Lucia on what would eventually be an 8 hour tour that included the Pitons, cerulean waters an active volcano and the botanical gardens ringed with banana trees.  It was the perfect post-election venue

At one point, we pulled off at a little roadside stand, one of many we would visit that day with St. Lucians anxious to sell  banana ketchup (which tasted suspiciouslylike French’s mustard), odd-shaped bowls made from palm fronds and Malachite necklaces still with the “made in Taiwan” tag attached.

“Would you like to feel the weight of my production?”, he asked.

At the next stop, the same malachite necklaces were also being pro-offered as island made when this gentlemen caught my attention.

Can anyone tell me why he’s wearing an ePlus Lanyard?

For some of my 12 faithful readers, ePlus is a technology company that Repubican Dude and I managed back when we were both working for company X and which Annapolis now manages-no doubt better than either the Dude or I did.

But back to this guy.

I asked him where he got the lanyard and he said he didn’t know.  I said, “did someone give that to you? ” Again he didn’t know.  I said, “have you ever left St. Lucia? ” “Nope,” he says.

So the only thing I can think of is that someone from ePlus vacationed on the Island at one of the nearby Sandals resorts (there are 3 in St. Lucia) and met Mr. Island Guy and thought that he might like a badge holder.

Because obviously when you make $225/ a month a free badge holder from the United States is quite a find.
