Bobby Jindal Needs a Nap
It’s worth taking a nap this afternoon so that I can be awake for Saturday Night Live which is likely to feature Kristin Witt/ Nancy Pelosi as a jack-in-the-box and someone mocking Bobby Jindal whose rebuttal speech has been summarily panned by members of his own party and contained out and out lies in his recount of Katrina. He was much better on Meet the Press last week.
I take issue with much of what Bobby Jindal claims are the corner stones of the democratic party; that we are nothing more than a bunch of left wing liberals who want to create the largest Government in our history.
George W. Bush created the Department of Homeland Security which is the largest money sucking agency in the country. So hello pot? It’s me, kettle…
Bobby Jindal suggests that less government and more individual rights is the foundation of the new Republican party. He wants to put health care choices between the doctor and the patient and not between the government the doctor and the patient. Except he left out the people making our medical decisions today are the insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies. I may trust my doctor but I sure as hell don’t trust Kaiser. If the Republicans are all, “let people make their own choices,” then why don’t they support a woman’s right to choose her reproductive health which is, fundamentally, a right to privacy? That to me is one of the most glaring contradictions in the Republican party. Either you give people power in their own lives or you don’t.
The REAL platform of today’s Republicans isn’t to let people make their own decisions, it’s let people make their own decisions as long as we approve of them first.
I’d like to hear THAT speech.

If you ask me Pelosi looked like a worn out seal clapping during the President’s speech. I’d really like to hold her down and teabag her while barking out my own ideas for a stimulus package….she’s a pathetic moron. As for Jindal, he is but one more in a long line of republican hypocrites. Of course the federal government didn’t work during Katrina, it was woefully neglected. Republicans only want to spend money on war machines and rich people. And all this BS about redistribution of wealth that I keep hearing about…why does Jindal continue to take $1.78 of Federal dollars (in 2005) for every $1 Louisiana contributes to Federal receipts? Redistribution of wealth is A-OK with republicans if it benefits THEM. Most of the RED states received higher amounts of $$ back from the federal government than they paid in….why is that? Is it OK to redistribute wealth the states that vote red?Lastly why is Jindal now refusing money to extend unemployment benefits when in December 2005 he cosponsored H.R. 4438, which extended federal unemployment benefits to workers who lost jobs due to Katrina? Back then it seemed OK to take federal dollars for unemployment, but now it’s not? Jindal is just posturing for a run in 2012. Personally I hope he is successful in his bid to win the Republican nomination, if this is the best and brightest the republicans have to offer they’ll continue to be the marginalized party of mean white southern men for many years to come.
The coincidence of Bobby Jindal’s rising star attached to the success of Slumdog Millionaire leaves me giggling in a heap on the floor. He is so…dare I SAY it, Sarahpalinesque!!! The Elephant Men and Women need an original thought to yank them out of the mire! And better ideas to offer when they don’t like the current proposals. Knee-jerk politics will not fix anything. Does anyone out there see the humor in all this? I’m cryin’, too, but it makes me want to write a country song.
Bobby Jindal Needs a Nap is a good song title, yes?

What was up with that outfit nancy Pelosi was wearing? Some FaceBook friends and I determined that Nancy Pelosi was wearing a new-age Snuggie. We suspect that it was worn over a onsie with no slip footies. Either that or she one of the TeleTubbies dressed her.
