I quit
I quit my job.
Without having another job.
During a recession.
And I have you, my faithful blog and column readers to blame. You’re the ones who for months, ne years have told me that I really should be a writer.
So just like that *snap*, I’m a writer.
My mother feigns support but I know she’s concerned. Everyone else thinks I’m nuts but is too polite to tell me what they really think.
So… what do you think?

Follow your dream, baby, follow your dream!
i say, if anyone can make it writing, tis you my friend. faithful followers do not just happen. you have earned each of us and we love you. and from the sound of things we’re people from all walks of life, differing political and religious view. you ARE a great writer. we just need to get the word out.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way
to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.
And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.
If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking, and don’t settle.
As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.“Steve JobsP.S. I’m not a Mac “fan”.
I’m not too polite to speak my mind, as I’ve proven to you. But I already thought you were nuts so this doesn’t change my opinion any! You’re a gutsy lady and this is a gutsy move, gotta love it. You’ll be fine, you’re reaching toward your dream and I can’t help but admire your dedication in pursuit thereof. What’s the worst that can happen, you end going back to a ‘regular’ job? Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You’ll be fine, keep your eye on the prize.
Wow…… though I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. Pursue your dreams. No job is worth it unless you enjoy it.
I think you’re nuts… and have guts. We all secretly wish we’d do what you are doing, which is following your dream. So don’t look back and go for it! Check out this author: http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/66/mylife.html He’s an amazing writer and I very much enjoyed his article and book at a time I was searching. Good luck!!
You definately are a writer. I think you were born a writer. Plus, you have so many talents and skills, no matter where this takes you, things will work out fine. You are doing what most people are so afraid of, finding yourself and pursuing your dream.
As always, we (DadCat too) are so very very proud of you.
I believe in you! It is never too late to go after what you want!!
I’m not feigning support. I’m just jealous.
I think that it is awesome to follow your dreams and most of all your heart. Just remember to keep your head in the game and to shoot for the stars!
You’ve got bigger “balls” than me. You go girl. I admire your courage.
